We are so excited to announce our very own Summer Fling Vendor Eventโand let us tell you, this is going to be one seriously fun fiber-filled celebration!
๐ Mark your calendars for June 27 & 28 (10:00 A.M. โ 5:30 P.M.) and June 29 (10:00 A.M. โ 2:00 P.M.), because for three glorious days, our shop will be bursting with creativity, color, and community.
We're welcoming eight amazing vendors to join us in-store, and each one brings something special to the tableโbeautiful yarns, irresistible accessories, and plenty of heart. Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, weaver, or just a lover of fiber and handmade art, you wonโt want to miss this.
โจ So... who are these fabulous folks joining the fling? Let me tell you who they are ๐
Alina Appasova of Galimka Knits is an amazing designer, an absolute engineer at designing shawls. Probably her favorite technique is mosaic knitting, and her patterns are well written with great explanation. Some of her patterns you may be familiar with, such as Prismarine, Tali Shawl, Dutch Tulips, Anica Shawl and Gardens of Giverny Shawl, just to name a few. She will even pick out yarns for your projects.ย
Our next designer is Industrial Whimsy, Ester Puente, some of you may be familiar with her patterns as she designed our shawl for the Texas Yarn Trail โTrail Mix Wrap.โ I especially like her Sea Foam Shawl, Chevron Lace Shawl, Road Trip Shawl Crochet (canโt forget our crocheters!). Not only is Ester a pattern designer she also makes the cutest stitch markers, coin purses, Seashell Trinket Dishes, and Watercolor Cards. So come and welcome Ester.
The next vendor is new to our storeย Daisy Bags, Julie discovered her from attending another vendor event. Her story is very interesting how she got started in designing bags, project bags, and more. Her company name is after her daughter Daisy. Cute, Cute, Cute.
Our next familiar face isย Designs by Kelleen, yes Kelleen is back. She not only designs bags, but does many other personalized items as well, as thermal cups, stitch markers, and she also crochets beaded necklaces and bracelets. Kelleen occasionally works at the store in a pinch, and teaches many classes for us. She is an expert crocheter and knitter.
Charming Ewe,ย is returning. And she is a rocket scientist, no lie. But we like her hand dyed yarn. Maureen has had two trunk shows at our store, and we have invited her back. She has the perfect yarn for any project you want to knit or crochet, as she is also a great crocheter. One of my favorite patterns is the โFlutter Buttshirtโ. I liked it so much, she gave me her knitted sample, it matched my eyes.
For our next yarn dyer, it has been awhile, almost a year and a half, but we are havingย Carol with Chicken Coop Dyeworks back to YSB. Carol is not new to the dying process. Funny story, I had tried for many years to have Carol come to my store when I first opened, I was not successful. But two years ago, my friend Rose Hayward introduced me to Carol at the Houston Fiber Fest. And then we were connected. I felt so honored when Carol said she would love to come to my store and do a trunk show. So please welcome Chicken Coop Dyeworks to Yarn Store Boutique.
Another one of my other favorite dyers isย Wanderluck Fibers, she is from Dallas. We do carry Victoriaโs yarn in our store. The first time I was introduced to Victoriaโs yarn was at the Yarn Tasting at Blue Mule Winery, unfortunately, Victoria was sick and her husband was selling her yarn. But I was sold, immediately. She has also attended the DFW Fiber Fest. I especially like her wool/cotton blend fingering weight yarn โ I believe it is perfect for Texas. So I am glad to have her back.
Okay, one more vendor,ย Theodora Pearls, Marla will be representing this company. The dyer is Jennifer Miller from Colorado. She is known for bamboo yarn, fingering weight. The colors are beautiful. There are many patterns on Ravelry using her yarn, there are even books written especially for Theodora Pearls yarn. So, come and check it out. This yarn is drapey and so easy to knit or crochet with. Colors are beautiful. We may also have a few more dropping in at the last minute.
Hereโs what you can expect:
- New yarns and products you wonโt find anywhere else
- In-person meet-and-greets with makers
- Trunk shows, demos, and one-of-a-kind items
- A chance to shop local and support small businesses
- And of courseโฆ good vibes, good yarn, and great company
Whether you come for a quick browse or spend the whole day soaking it all in, we hope this Summer Fling becomes one of your favorite fiber memories of the year. Bring a friend, bring your WIP, and get ready to fall in love with something new.
We can't wait to see you there!
