Back on the Treadmill!

Back on the Treadmill!

Back on the Treadmill!

Well, ladies, the last time we met, I was on the treadmill getting ready for the Party Planner Summit. And wow, it was just as exhausting as I expected, but also every bit as exhilarating!I met so many wonderful new friends and learned several different crafts; which, by the way, may soon be coming to Yarn Store Boutique. You knew that was going to happen, didn’t you? I simply cannot learn something new without immediately thinking, “We need to do this at the store!” Another squirrel has found me. ;-)

However, I also learned one very important lesson: this old lady does not need to vend at any more events! It was entirely too much work, and my back is still reminding me of that decision. Apparently, my mind may be willing to keep going, but my back has officially submitted a complaint.

I also mentioned that we may be planning another knitting retreat in February. After attending the summit, I’m dreaming up a slightly different concept for that retreat; a little more structure, a few planned activities, and plenty of opportunities to learn and create. Of course, everything will be optional. If you would rather sit comfortably, work on your own project, visit with friends, and watch the rest of us chase squirrels, that is perfectly fine. No hurt feelings!

My brain is already racing with ideas and excitement; but, for now, I really need to focus on our upcoming knitting retreat in Brenham. One retreat at a time, Doris. One retreat at a time!

Back at the store, Julie and I are also planning a few changes to create more space. I love Julie. She listens patiently to all my crazy ideas, supports me, and then quietly waits for me to realize that perhaps one or two of them might not be such good ideas after all.
While I was away, I bought her a pen that says “Boss Lady.” It is absolutely perfect because, although I may technically be the boss, Julie is my conscience, my voice of reason, and quite possibly my real boss. Don’t tell her I admitted that!
We also have so many wonderful workshops planned for October. They are listed on our website and calendar, so be sure to take a look and see which new squirrel might be calling your name.

This is a shorter blog because I really must get back on that treadmill. Apparently, it never actually stops, it just changes from planning events, to attending retreats, to rearranging the store, to dreaming up the next adventure.

So, here I go again. Somebody please remind me to stretch first!
