I Dodged a Bullet—and Found a Few More Squirrels
Well, phew! I dodged a bullet.
In my last blog, Pull Up Your Big-Girl Panties, Doris!, I shared that I was preparing to learn how to post my blogs, add product links, arrange pictures, and create the graphics for our website.
I was going to tackle it with confidence, or at least pretend I had confidence while clicking buttons and hoping for the best. ;-)
Then Julie insisted that she would create the graphics for my blogs.
At first, I didn’t want to hurt her feelings, so I graciously agreed to let her do it. But if we are being completely honest, Julie was probably a little fearful of what I might create on my own!
My feelings are not hurt at all. In fact, I am quite relieved.
I will still need to learn how to post the blogs and add all those mysterious product links, but at least the graphics will look pretty. Everyone can now breathe a collective sigh of relief, especially Julie.
Now, speaking of creating, let’s move on to the kind of work I actually love!
I am currently making 11 pottery cups for a special order from my daughter Tara. They are for an event we will be attending together in September. Of course, pottery cups alone would not be enough of a project for me, so I am also crocheting 11 dumpling bags for that same event.
Yes, eleven cups and eleven dumpling bags.
Apparently, I don’t believe in trying a project just once. ;-)
I also need to start our new Crochet Sweater Club project, the Mulled Harvest Cardigan, which is due in mid-August. Then we decided to begin a new KAL featuring a DanDoh project, and I am very excited about it because I absolutely love the design.
But wait!
I had forgotten that we already have another DanDoh project planned using the beautiful Damask yarn we all purchased from Miss Babs.
Are you keeping up? Because I’m not entirely sure I am.
Between Sweater Club, Crochet Sweater Club, pottery cups, dumpling bags, two DanDoh projects, and planning our September and October calendar, the squirrels are running freely through YSB once again.
However, we have made one very sensible decision: August and September will be Catch-Up Months for both Sweater Club and Crochet Sweater Club. This will give everyone a chance to finish—or at least make progress on—the projects already waiting patiently in their bags.
And yes, that includes me!
Of course, while we are supposedly “slowing down,” Julie and I are also planning everything for September and October. We just keep things hopping around here. I am so glad Julie is back beside me, sharing the work, feeding the ideas, and occasionally rescuing everyone from my attempts at graphic design.
In my last blog, I had to pull up my big-girl panties and prepare to tackle technology. I still have to learn some of it out of necessity, and I will. But now I can return to pottery, crochet, sweaters, yarn, workshops, and planning more projects than any one person should reasonably have.
Now this is the kind of work I love!
