Running Behind… But Not Really!
Good morning, my friends!
Here I am running behind, as usual. But am I really? 😉
Today is Thursday, and technically this blog should have been finished by Monday. And here we are, one day before it is supposed to post, and I am just now sitting down to write it.
But in my defense, I seem to have misplaced a few days!
Last weekend I made a quick trip to Birmingham, Alabama, to visit my granddaughter for Rush Weekend. I left Saturday morning and was back Monday morning. Quick trip; but we packed plenty into it!

And while I was there, Bethany, my daughter-in-law, and I got to play quite a bit of Mahjong.
So, to all my Mahjong-playing friends at YSB—BEWARE!
I am getting a little quicker!
Dolores, Lynne, Cheryl & Alice—I’m coming for YOU! 😂
Hopefully, someone else at our upcoming knitting retreat in Brenham knows how to play Mahjong, too. Bring those extra cards, my friends, because you never know when we might find someone who wants to learn.
We will certainly miss Kimberley, Pat and Rolita this time around!
And speaking of retreats…you know my squirrel brain can't possibly finish one retreat before thinking about another one.
I am already considering a smaller retreat in Galveston next January or February. It would have to be a much smaller group because finding a house that sleeps more than ten people; without everyone sharing rooms is not easy. But wouldn't a cozy little Galveston knitting retreat be fun?
And after typing all of that, I just realized what this week's blog is actually about.
Upcoming fun at YSB!
Apparently, I had to write half the blog before I figured that out. 😂
First up, we are planning a Mini Halloween Party on October 31st, starting at noon. We'll have a potluck, and if you'd like to dress up, PLEASE DO! You know we never need much of an excuse for a party around here.
We are also having a crochet workshop where we'll be making an adorable Crochet Granny Square Ghost Just for the Boo'z!
And don't forget our Mid-Autumn Lantern Night at Redfish Grill. It is NOT too late to sign up! I am so excited about this evening and cannot wait to see everyone together for another one of our YSB adventures.
Now, since I am already behind this week, I had better keep this blog short because today's schedule isn't exactly slowing down.
I still need to pack the car for the ToriArtist Party Planner Summit retreat, work until 1:30 p.m., and then wait for my favorite girl JULIE—who says she'll probably show up around 2:00.
Wink, wink, Julie. I won't be watching the clock. 😉

Then I need to get my grandkids, cook dinner, AND my sweet, sweet, joyful Tara is arriving at 5:30 p.m. from Fernley, Nevada!
Oh—and somewhere in all of this, we have to prepare for our family Baked Ziti Cook-Off on Sunday after we get back from the “Party.”

Because apparently, simply having dinner would be far too normal for this family.
So maybe I am running behind.
Or maybe this is just what life looks like when you're surrounded by family, friends, yarn, Mahjong, retreats, parties, grandkids, baked ziti…and a whole lot of squirrels running around in your head.
And you know what?
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I hope you all have an AMAZING weekend!
Hugs and kisses to all! ❤️
Until next time—assuming I can find the time to write the next blog!
Doris
P.S. I learned how to put emojis in my blog from the computer, as it is easy to do on your phone. Hope I didn't carried away with too many ;-}
