Well, here we are, the day after Thanksgiving. And oh my goodness… what a Thanksgiving it was! I hope your home was filled with joy, laughter, good food, and maybe even a quiet moment just for you. However your day unfolded, I hope it left your heart a little fuller.
We celebrated early this year—our first time doing Thanksgiving on Sunday—and I’ll tell you, it was a huge success. We ended up with 28 people in the house. Yes… 28. Many of them little ones, including several babies. So much for my plans of teaching finger knitting—those sweet babies took center stage, and I was elbow-deep in Pasta e Fagioli, stirring, serving, and making sure everyone had a warm bowl the moment they walked in. Let’s just say: I was busy!
By the time dinner wrapped up, it was time for the famous Scott family tradition—Flash. But this year? We turned it into a full tournament. And would you believe it?
I had to hand over my family-champ title to my granddaughter, Berkeley. Yes, the queen has been dethroned! Which only means one thing:
The December family tournament is ON.
Since celebrating Thanksgiving early worked so beautifully, we’re doing the same for Christmas. We normally gather Christmas Eve, but this year we’ll be celebrating early again. When our family gets together at Thanksgiving, everyone shares what they want for Christmas—so that’s when the shopping really begins!
