Learn the basics of stranded colourwork with Gnatalia for "The Gnomes of Grimblewoods" book. Her hat makes a great first project - any mistakes are fine because wonkiness is gnominess! Knit on DK-weight yarn using knitter's choice of knitting in the round methods.
Class time: 3 Hours
Fundamentals of chart reading, key skills in knitting with more than one yarn per round, and reminders to relax. Students get a special PDF with knitting instructions from the book. Book purchase is not required. We do have them available at YSB, Just click on the title "The Gnomes of Grimblewood"
Supplies:
- Kit included in the price, will be provided: DK-weight yarn in 3 colours - hat, body, beard/nose/hands. Wool or wool suggested blend. Rowan Felted Tweed is recommended. Kits will be provided with half skeins of vairous colorway choice & kit will include the weighted pellets and stuffing needed to complete your gnome.
- Yarn Darning needle, scissors, removable stitch marker
- US 3 and US 4 for knitting in a small circumference. you can use 2 circular needle, dpns, or magic loop, or flexi flips.

- Pen
- Phone or digital camera
- Post it notes
Required Skills: Able to knit, purl, and work in the round.
Homework is required to start the hat: Knit rounds 1 -7 of hat. Pattern will be provided when you sign up for the class.
